CRC is still a very young club in light of the American rowing tradition. But with the tremendous help of our partners we already achived a lot in this short time.
Here are some important steps in the history of our club:


October 25th, 2003Thanks to very generous donations we could buy a wonderful new and very much needed launch after our good old jon boat died on us.
June 21st, 2003USRowing Southeast Regional Aiken, S.C.
May 3rd, 2003Aiken/Augusta MRA Masters Regatta Langley Pond in Aiken, SC.
April 2003The Broad River comes into the boathouse twice again - this time we were better prepared and the water was only about 18 inches high, too.
March 22nd, 2003The Broad River floods our new boathouse. The water crests at about 53 inches. Only a few notes are washed away.

July 20th, 2002Georgia Games at Langley Pond, North Augusta, GA
June 2nd, 2002USRowing SE Regional Championship Regatta Langley Pond, Aiken, SC.
May 4th, 2002Aiken/Augusta Masters Regatta Aiken, SC.

July 14th, 2001CRC won a number of silver and bronze medals at the 2001 USRowing Southeastern Regional Regatta and the 2001 Georgia State Games.
January 2001The first juniors program begins.

December 2000Students of the University of South Carolina form a rowing club with the support of CRC.
???The club buys its first club racing boat - the "Schoenbrod" - a wonderful eight.
???A Hudson Single and a Hudson Double are first club-owned boats.

November 14th, 1999CRC holds its first rowing exhibition. The Clemson Rowing Club came with about 100 rowers to show the Columbia community the experience of rowing.
September 1st 1999A temporary boathouse in form of tractor-trailers is being set up.
May 20th, 1999The Broad River Rowing Site officially opens.
May 1999With the help of Richland County land is being cleared, gravel parking lots and roadways are being laid down, and a rowing dock is being built.
May 3rd, 1999The CRC is being incorporated.

March 22nd, 1997The "Columbia Rowing Club" - the CRC - is unofficially created.
